Dior Rodriguez is an Afro-Caribbean filmmaker from the Dominican Republic who immigrated to the United States at the age of eight. She grew up between Washington Heights in Manhattan and her home island, shaping a perspective deeply rooted in both cultures. A graduate of the SUNY Purchase Conservatory with a BFA in Directing, Dior began her creative journey as a musician, specifically a cellist, before transitioning fully into filmmaking.
She spent several years honing her craft as an editor before transitioning into directing. Since 2022, she has worked commercially full-time, creating films for brands such as Walmart, Amazon Music, and Vogue. Her work draws on a documentary foundation and reflects a deep passion for visual storytelling, history, music, and authentic human narratives.
